Lions donate to Hope for Tomorrow

Forest of Dean Lions Club recently received an urgent request for help from Hope For Tomorrow who run a mobile cancer care unit in our area:

We are already seeing a huge reduction in our income, with fundraising events, corporate events and fundraising challenge events having to be cancelled. We are a charity that totally relies on voluntary donations as we don’t receive any GOVERNMENT FUNDING. We urgently need your help.
Our approach of delivering cancer care closer to patients has never been more important than now, sparing patients and their families’ trips to hospital, which could put them at risk. We are living through unprecedented times and this new virus poses a huge risk to already vulnerable cancer patients during their treatment.

Forest Lions therefore applied for a grant from a Lions Club International COVID Emergency fund and successfully received £1000 on their behalf.  The funds were immediately transferred on to Hope for Tomorrow.
